Seolo Africa will take you on an African adventure you won’t soon forget
Rhino Post Safari Lodge offers early morning and evening safari drives. Safari drives are conducted in specially adapted open Land Cruisers, with professional guides. To preserve our wilderness concession, no off-roading is practised.
In addition to limited driving on our 12,000-hectare concession, we have exclusive use of some of the Kruger National Park public roads at night. SANParks has allowed us the added advantage of being able to utilise 170km of Park roads after gate closing time – when all the self-drive tourists have left and when the other concessions have to be back on their respective properties.
A typical day would include an early start, a cup of fresh coffee or tea, after which guests set out on their safari drive. Guides at the lodge meet the stringent requirements of the South African National Parks, and senior guides hold the highest guiding qualifications possible in South Africa, to ensure that your encounters with the African wilderness are exciting, informative and safe.
For a comprehensive safari experience, one can also combine your experience at Rhino Post Safari Lodge with a stay at Rhino Walking Safaris – our exclusive, tented camp offering an unforgettable guided walking experience, and even a night under the stars at the Sleep-Out Decks. These must, however, be pre-booked prior to arrival.
Enjoy the breath-taking skies on a clear night, and for the enthusiasts, make use of our XT8 Classic Dobsonian telescope with the assistance of a knowledgeable guide to view the magic of the southern hemisphere constellations, unspoilt by light pollution.
Pre-book a private vehicle and guide to spend time recording and photographing as many of the Kruger Park’s 529 species of birds that you can. Your guide will tailor the drives to your specifications, with a focus on birds, bird identification, and time spent in different habitats to maximise your experience.
Pre-book a night at the Sleep-Out decks and spend the evening under the stars sleeping in individual tents on raised platforms. You will leave Rhino Post at approximately 16h00 and be transferred via vehicle to Plains Camp. Part of the adventure is enjoying a meal cooked over an open fire whilst looking out for animals drinking at the waterhole below before curling up to sleep, lulled by nature’s nocturnal sounds.
For safety reasons, we regret that children under the age of 8 years may not participate in the Sleep-Out activity. For those that are too young, or too old to manage the walking trails on offer at Plains Camp, this is a wonderful adventure for those who want to get close to nature.

Play a round of golf on Kruger Park’s unfenced golf course in Skukuza. Enjoy sightings of hippos and crocodiles, while pitting your wits against both the nine-hole (18 tee box) course and the baboons, impala and warthog that roam the fairways. It is best to pre-book this activity, and please note that if you wish to play 18 holes, you will not have enough time to play between drives, so may have to forgo a drive. In this case (at an additional charge) we can book a private guide and vehicle to take you on a private ride after golf, arriving back at the lodge in time for dinner.
